The toe spreader is a combination of toe spreader and a ring. It prevents overlap of the first and second toes and relieves the pain of Hallux valgus (a misalignment of the big toe). This can cause tremendous pain.

Hallux valgus is caused by a combination of factors, where shoe choice and heredity are important risk factors. A tight shoe can contribute to it gradually hurting the foot, in connection with the big toe being placed inwards and a bump forming on the outside of the joint.
